Increasing of ship loading/unloading rates
An increase in the speed of handling vessels, here is not about replacing ship-loading equipment, can be considered as one of the measures to “increase the throughput of terminal”. But we always put this service as a separate issue. The handling time of the vessel does not depend on the capacity of the ship loading equipment only. And this is not only a terminal issue. It is a matter of proper ship-shore communication. Sometimes, the increase of ship loaders' capacity is not as critical as reducing downtime. Try to log the downtime from mooring the vessel to departure, and you will see the potential.
The malfunctions in ship-shore communication lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, the impossibility of effective berth usage, claims for demurrage, or dead freight.
It is difficult for stevedores to understand ship's officers because they are not familiar enough with the vessel's structure and consequent problems that may arise due to incorrect sequence of loading or unloading. The ship cargo officers generally don't care about the terminal problems. They are only interested in the safety of the vessel and complete deballasting. Both of them often do not care about the charterer and the shipowner. The last, in turn, argue to each other in their language, not understanding the technical reason for the problem arisen and the possibilities to avoid it in prior.
Under one roof of INMIR LLC, we managed to gather knowledge and experience from all these areas. We know the structure of ships as we design and build them. We know the maritime business and have experience in the fleet's technical and commercial management, having naval officers and superintendents in staff. We are engaged in the planning and modernization of transshipment terminals, and we have come from dockers to top managers ourselves. The accumulated experience and proven methodologies allow us to achieve high results in the organization of safe and high-speed handling of ships in port. We will be happy to share all this knowledge with you if you order our services or training course.
