Ship conversion, modernization, and reclassification
Ship design is not always creating something new. Quite often, it is required to modernize or convert the ship for different reasons like changing the purpose of the vessel, for example, from the tanker into a bulker, increasing capacity or navigation area of a ship, etc. Sometimes it is necessary to change the Class notation, due to changing the classification society as an example.
Same as with the ship design, the corresponding documents shall be issued and approved by Class to extend the capabilities of the ship, such as modernization and conversion projects, conformity analysis, additional drawings and calculations, strength and stability booklets, and many more.
Unlike the design of a new vessel, the modernization or reclassification projects are multivariant. Quite often, especially beginning shipowners, are taking the wrong way. As a result, they spend a lot of extra time and money and sometimes didn't reach the goals.
Call us for consultancy, and we will explain what to do and what is better not to do to implement your project in the easiest way. Or you can leave it for us, and the INMYR project management team will carry out the conversion, modernization, or reclassification of the vessel for you.
